Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) can no longer be considered isolated ivory towers of academic excellence, where learning and skill development are domains of scholars alone. In fact, an HEI is now more of a universe of teams working in unison to disseminate and create knowledge that benefit people and planet.

To me, education is a definitive path to empower society through enlightened, skillful and socially relevant citizens. We, at D.Y. Patil Education Society, Deemed to be University, are committed to giving society trained and motivated graduates who will serve with compassion, competence and commitment. The ambience and culture of the university fosters self-directed learning and promotes students to become lifelong learners capable of working with cutting edge technologies in challenging environments with service to humanity as their goal.

This University was established in the year 2005 with the objective to develop healthcare professionals focusing on preventive, curative, promotive as well as rehabilitative aspects of health. Over the years, the University has developed itself in to a multi-disciplinary university by expanding its academic programmes offerings in the disciplines of nursing, physiotherapy, hospitality studies, allied- health sciences, pharmacy, engineering & technology, management and computer applications to impart quality education and deliver world class services. Besides carrying out research in emerging areas of interdisciplinary nature at our unique Centre for Interdisciplinary Research, distinctive PG programmes in Medical Physics, Medical Biotechnology and Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine are also offered. Thus establishing itself as an excellent ‘Centre of Learning’. Our graduates are proudly serving society across countries and continents

Our 810 bed multi-specialty Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Institute provides most modern healthcare including critical care and emergency services to the population at large, besides imparting clinical training to the students. The credibility of the systems and services has seen a large increase in the numbers of patients seeking treatment making it one of the apex health institutions of the region. This in itself is a testimony to the care rendered by our doctors, faculty, staff and students.

It is our constant endeavour to facilitate and enable each and every student, staff and faculty member to reach their maximum potential. To that end, we regularly modify the curricula including introduction of competency based curriculum, adoption of newer methods of teaching-learning, provision of learning spaces with state-of-the-art facilities, improved assessment systems and integration of technology in academic as well administrative processes. Addressing health and social issues of nearby urban and rural areas find priority in our community outreach programmes.
