The D. Y. Patil Education Society Deemed to be University for past 19 years has strived to match global, national, and local expectations and demands. Established as a health sciences university in 2005, it started offering interdisciplinary programs in 2009 and lately multidisciplinary programs responding to NEP 2020 call. The ten verticals of UGC adopted Quality Mandate 2018 provide a framework of quality education in the university. Accreditations by NAAC in 2012 & 2017 (A Grade) and 2023 (A++ Grade), NABH (2020), NABL (2020) and ISO-9001:2015 (2021-2024) evidence our commitment to quality as do registration with NAD, Shodhganga, introduction of electives courses and increasing interdisciplinary courses. A multilevel, multidimensional educational system is preserved through statutory, non-statutory bodies that comply with our Vision, Mission in a transparent and accountable manner. Operationalization of quality measures is a fundamental objective and commitment. Inclusivity, democracy, participative governance, decentralization are embodied in multiple nodes of decision making, stakeholder representation and using feedback as integral to progress. This allows a sentient, responsive and adaptable system of governance. Introduction of modern management techniques with qualified professionally trained administrators ensures pro-activeness that matches global pace of change. Resource mobilization from government and non-governmental sources promotes engagement with local, regional and national community in spheres of research, healthcare, and education. Recent Quality initiatives have included Updated Examination Manual to accommodate recent developments, IT Audit, updated IT policy, Green Audit, Energy Audit, Gender Audit, Academic and Administrative Audit, International Seminars on Bioethics and Emerging Quality Perspective in Higher Education (EQUIP-HE) I & II.
